[LON-CAPA-users] IMS package imports

Hi Gerd,

At this point we're in the planning stages, so that's why ideally I'd like
to identify a standard that will work with Lon Capa as well as hopefully
other standards-compliant systems. At this point, we don't have original
source code yet. One possibility would be to have those doing the data entry
use Respondus set to the "QTI 1.1+" personality, so I guess I could send a
sample of that, but I'm not sure that's the way we'd go. My thought was
rather to set up a web database for the students entering questions to use
and then when they submit a record (a multiple choice question), wrap it in
XML conforming to the IMS QTI 2.0 or possibly another version of that
standard so that the questions are stored in the database ready to be
imported into Lon Capa or other compliant system. OR with everything clearly
labeled, they'd be able to be manipulated hopefully for other uses as well.
That's the sketchy idea at the moment. I will gladly receive redirection!

Thank you,

Doug
