I need some help understanding how to use the weight and format for display of score problem.

I've started using loncapa this semester as my sole CMS and have been experimenting with the Weight and "Format for display of score" parameters to show nicely formatted grades for each assignment such that they are all calibrated to 100 points. I think there must be something I am misunderstanding about the "scoreformat" tag.

For example, in one of my assignments (folder named LC#01) I have 66 questions. So I figure I will set the Weight for that folder to be 100/66 = 1.5152. In addition since I don't want all the decimal points to show I set the scoreformat tag equal to "1f" (without quotes). I have set both of these parameters using PARM, Overview Mode, and selecting the folder LC#01.

When I view the problems as CC through Course Documents, it shows the weight of each part set correctly (I have the weight displayed in each problem using a style file). However, the weight shows all 4 decimal points (1.5152). If I display the scores for that assignment using CHRT in HTML, Excel or CSV mode I get all 4 decimal points.

If I view any particular problem in that folder as student, I see the weight displayed as 1.5152. As student, if I check GRDS for that folder I see the total score for the assignment listed with 4 decimal points.

So I guess I am confused about "scoreformat". What is the intended effect of that tag? Am I misusing/abusing it?

Best,
Jay
