[LON-CAPA-users] any limit on the id numbers for responses?

<div>What is the purpose of the id? I assumed it was used to track the stat=
s for problems, but that doesn't seem to be the case. 
 
Does the system automatically assign ids to problems/parts if one is
not provided? If so, a) what is the pattern, and b) why would we assign
our own ids? I notice that some problems seem to have ids assigned,
others do not. 
 
What is the meaning of id=3D0 versus id=3D0=5F11? I see both of these aroun=
d. Is 0=5F11 a part within problem 0? 
 
Responses also have an id?

I am wondering if there is any limit on th=
