Yes!!! That seems to be doing the trick. Thank you Todd, you just saved me from a very dull and unproductive night.
Many thanks,
Cheers

Cheers Michael,
Your problem is that simply enrolling a student in a course doesn't allow the authentication type, or password to change. Neither can a CC change a student's authentication type or password. Imagine if it were set differently for each of several courses a student was concurrently enrolled in--ugh!!!!
However, the good news is that there does appear to be a way to accomplish what you wish, though I haven't tested it. As a DC, from the main menu click on the "User Management" link then choose "Upload a File of Users" Once you've selected an upload file, on the page where you select username, etc. it appears as though you can "Change authentication for existing users in domain xxx ..." And force it to Kerberos. I'm not sure, but you may want to check the "no ending date" box.
The only thing you should need to accomplish this is a list of usernames.
Good Luck,
Todd

Hi,
We've been migrating our authentication to krb5 for all of our local accounts. A small problem has arisen, though... the authtype of returning students isn't being updated by autoenroll (I get an error message "Authentication type mismatch for xxxxxxxx - 'internal' in system, 'krb5' based on information in classlist or default for this course." and the student's authtype isn't changed).
I've been looking into the auto-update function, but as described in localenroll.pm, it doesn't seem to do authtype updates.
So, does anyone know of any way in which I can do a bulk update of authentication types so I don't have to pick through by hand ~ 1000 accounts that might be affected by this change.
Many thanks for any thoughts you could offer.
Cheers,
Michael Dugdale
