There are two kinds of courses:

* the "old" style, which run from a published sequence file. These are
useful if you are just running the same course over and over.
* the "new" or "DOCS"-style courses. These are useful if you are
planning to change the course frequently during the semester, but will
not necessarily want to run the same course again in the same way in
another semester.

Looks like you would like a "DOCS"-style course.

On the Course Creation screen, where it comes to specifying sequences,
there is a table:

* right side is for "old" style
* left side if for "new" style

Leaving it in the default settings will generate a "new" course.

You then have to load any sequences you would like to use from inside
DOCS. You can either use a sequence by reference, using "Import," or
load its contents, using "Load."
