I noticed that too, Mark. Thanks for passing along your fix. I didn't see
that behavior on our two access servers running Fedora. I saw that behavior
on the last update as well...

Subject: [LON-CAPA-admin] mysql and update

Hi,

I've just updated to 1.1.99.5 and have hit something that caused grief
on earlier updates.

I UPDATED oucapa2. I restarted mysqld as suggested at the bottom of the
script.

I stop and then start loncontrol. lonsql:
lonsql Cannot connect to database!
 Cannot connect to database!
 failed

I then stop and start httpd as part of the normal cycle.

I got two emails complaining about not being able to attach to the
database.

I restart mysqld (remembering advice from Matthew a few weeks back).
It turns out mysqld was not running.

Now mysqld is running again. I stop loncontrol (lonsql was not running).
I start loncontrol and all is happy.

Is anyone else seeing this? (I'm running RH7.3 still) Has this already
been noted in bug reports?

Later,
Mark
