I did some investigating and you're right: the GIF has nothing to do with it.
Pure coincidence that the only problem with a GIF is also the one which
prevents successful printing of the sequence.  I fixed the errors there.

I also discovered that printing in "batch LateX mode" gives me the blank
page, but if I print in "standard Latex mode", I will actually get the error
page showing LaTeX's stop error (no link to the tex source, im really looking
forward to that in 1.1!)

Also, these two modes differ in whether the .tex file sits in the /prtspool
location or not.  In "batch" mode, the .tex file never appears in prtspool,
but in "standard" mode the .tex file is there for me to look at.
