Mark,

I don't think it matters what the Parameter Level is set to, but let's
say it is set to Course Level. I specify a section, and choose an
enclosing map. Next, when I set a date (Open or Due), the
screen blinks, and I see the set date displaied on screen. It is
recognized immediately. If I set Max. Number Tries, the screen blinks,
but nothing is displayed in the "Default Value" column, not the
"Parameter in Effect" column, and if I login as a student the maxtries
values are not the ones I set. -And yes, I have waited plenty long (too
long ;-)

Lars.
