This is a bug, and you are correct it is related to the use of a dash 
character in the part id. LON-CAPA is sometimes using the regular 
expression [\w\s]+ to match the part id. I found that in lonparmset.pm, 
for instance. \w matches underscore (which generates a warning if you 
use it) but not dash.
