[LON-CAPA-users] Known interactions between resources assigned to groups vs. whole class?

Hi,

The particular deployment mechanism (releasing it to the TAs first, etc) should not make a difference here.

I would need to see the actual problem and its instance in the course. An issue may be that the problem has multi-part parameters in place, in which case you need to set the maxtries on the part-level (check "show all parts" in the parameter setting screen). Another possible problem could occur if the maxtries parameter in the problem is coded with an invalid "type" that the parameter setting window does not recognize.

She released it via a special folder only to them and set the maxtries to 2 for the whole quiz experience. Now she’s prepping the quiz (same resource but imported into a different folder) for release to her students and is finding it impossible to do anything with the maxtries parameter. The dialogue will come up, but there is no place to enter a number. The drop-down menu is present in the top half of the dialogue but the bottom of the pop-up window is empty. We’ve tried numerous approaches to get to this but with no luck, including deleting the maxtries setting for the TA group. It appears that she may have done the same thing the last quiz, but I don’t think we can be sure — the 2 maxtries for the TAs in that one may be the result of having set it for the whole group??

Could that be a factor in why there is resistance to the normal setting of the maxtries parameter within the course? But she had been able to set it specifically for the TA group, so it doesn’t seem like that would be a factor.
