[LON-CAPA-users] Changes to parameters are not taking effect

Is there a way to prevent parameter changes?  Maybe I set something accidentally.

I have been successful in the past setting parameters for sections and folders.  I am not sure what is preventing me from making changes now.

Hi Gerd,

Thanks for the response.  I tried it in Overview mode and instead of a pop-up window showing up there was a message: Error saving parameters

I tried other folders and groups and it still didn't work.  I'm not sure what was wrong with the parameters.  I checked the end date of the course and it is set to July 1, 2012.

It's probably set at the wrong level. Some possibilities:

* for the top-level course folder, parameters cannot be set at the folder level.
* parameters set on a part-level do not cascade "up" - you might have set something for "Part 2" of a problem, which would only catch for a problem that has a Part 2

I would suggest going to the "Existing Parameters - Overview Mode," find the parameter that you set, and see what level it is set at.
