[LON-CAPA-users] error in perl scripts

Hi Guy -- Late last morning, I figured it out.  The problem seems to 
come from my students using microsoft products to generate hashes.  
Sometimes, they send me files with ` instead of  ' because of smart 
quotes.   This is what creates the error.  pretty nasty.  -- Jim
