Thanks to all for the quick, helpful responses.
One more question, if I may, what about TAs and sections? I assume they
are set up in the same way as an instructor but will they have access to
grades for their particular section? Will the TAs be able to modify the
parameters? I would assume not but want to check.
Perhaps what is needed--at least for me--is a matrix that shows the
capabilities of the various levels of access realizing that with custom
roles you can alter that matrix somewhat. Is there something like that
somewhere? Does it need to be created?

Yes, when assigning the role of Instructor to a user, there is a
'Section' box, type in the section you want them to be the instructor
They will only be able to view, and change grades of users in their

(For example I colu have an Instructor for section 001 role and an

Course Coordinator is the only role which is allowed to modfiy what
documents are in the course.
