You need a customized version of HTML-Parser. The LON-CAPA repository
contains versions built for SuSE 9.3 for both 32 bit and 64 bit.

32 bit

64 bit

If you have yast configured to use the LON-CAPA repository as a software
source you should be able to use yast to select which of the available
versions of HTML-Parser to use (there will be one version from the standard
distro source, and one from the LON-CAPA source).

Alternatively you could use wget to download the appropriate LON-CAPA rpm
packages and use the rpm command to downgrade from the current package to
the LON-CAPA rpm.

For the record: some information about how this is handled in SuSE 10.1 and

A choice between version types is not required for SuSE 10.1, because in
that case LONCAPA-prerequisites refers to perl-HTML-Parser_loncapa instead
of perl-HTML-Parser. (For SuSE 10.1 the customized version of HTML-Parser
used by LON-CAPA has been named differently to differentiate it from the
HTML -Parser package maintained in the standard SuSE 0.1 distro.) In the
case of Fedora distributions a choice does not need to be made either
because when yum is used to update packages it honors the requirement
specified in the FC* LONCAPA-repository rpm packages to always use a
specific version of HTML-Parser.
