Ok. A little more experimentation and I was able to work out what I wanted/needed. For those who may be interested, we’re working on students entering results during their labs into
Lon-Capa and then passing that data into their postlab Lon-Capa problem via a sequence. The instructor asked that the students get access to the Postlab ONLY if they had entered all data during the lab. That’s easy enough to do with a conditional in the sequence.
But we needed to accommodate the few students who inevitably would have excused absences for their lab and so should be allowed to submit the postlabs. Our current solution will be to have the instructor “excuse” the first submission of the in-lab data entry
and then include an alternate condition in the sequence like this:

&EXT('user.resource.resource.1.solved',’mapalias’) eq ‘excused’

One of the things I love about Lon-Capa — there is almost always a way to do what you want to do!
I’m fairly convinced that somewhere there exists an awarddetail or status or similar along the lines of correct_by_instructor indicating that the instructor awarded points for the problem manually. Was this just a vivid dream? I seem unable to find anything
along those lines now, but don’t think I’m making that up. If it exists, what is the exact wording for it and is it awarddetail, status, awarded or ??? Thank you!
