Sorry, I did not record/report accurately last time. Yes, after the test
student (that's me) took the sample test, I modified the answer date to be
the same as the Problem Opening Date, and the test scores were then visible
to the test student. I thought that would imply the need of my
intervention before the scores were visible. But it turns out NOT to be the
case.

In fact, I just re-tested the whole thing (with Time Limit shortened to
5-minute). This is what I found out (the main difference this time being
the Problem Answer Date set equal to the Problem Opening Date right at the
beginning before the student took the sample test):

(a) Problem Opening Date: set appropriately
(b) Problem Due Date: not set
(c) Problem Answer Date: now set to be the same as Problem Opening Date
(d) Content Opening Date: set appropriately
(e) Time-Limit: set to 5 mins (so I can test everything faster)
(f) Show Problem Status: set to "No, show no feedback at all"
(g) Max number of tries: set to 999
(h) Content Close Date: not set

My Findings (round two):

1. Before the Time Limit has expired, the student would not be able to
see the test score (Main Menu > Grading and Statistics > View current
problem status and grading information). (Same finding as before, and this
is exactly how we wanted for our sample test to behave.)

2. During the test, immediately after each submission of a question, the
following system response is seen: "Your final submission will be graded
after the due date." (Same finding as before which Stuart has already
commented on.)

3. After the Time Limit has expired, the student *IS* able to see the test
score right away as well as which questions were answered wrong under
Course Contents, all without any further intervention on my part. (So this
is perfect. Exactly how we wanted it to behave.)

I will test this more to make sure everything is exactly how we wanted
it to be. I still need to test whether this works well with a student
self-registering into the sample course. To paraphrase Gerd, this is
looking like to be my lucky summer. I think our sample test would be able
to achieve most, if not all, of our desired features by version 2.11, :D

Many Thanks,
