Stefan,

If you have a student role, it will show up in the lists as a student in the
grading menu. I'll often stick myself or instructors in as students in
a section titled admin or guest.

Alternatively, when testing problems as Course Coordinator, I sometimes
set the problem type to "practice" specifically for myself, so that I
can test out variants of a problem without having to reset any grade status.

   "Reset status" is not available, because the Course Coordinator is
   not listed in the member list for manual grading. An explicit
   enrollment of the same user as student doesn't change this.
