Jim,

Yes - definitely tell him thanks on that. I don't often code multiple right
answers, so I sometimes forget you can do that. That's a good
option for cases where textbooks have different tables sometimes.

Mark

Mark,
Show all parts works. Thanks again.

Also the modified problem now appears to accept two answers, for two differ=
ent assumed values of the resistivity of copper. I assume I should thank h=
k for this.

Jim,

Sorry - I forgot that my replies to loncapa-users get hung up because of em=

issues.

Here is my reply. I know that we hard code the tolerance into all of our p=
roblems.
If it's from the 250 (calc-based) library, it tends to be 1%. From the 200(=
algebra-based)
libraries, it tends to be 2%.

Jim,

I ran in to this a couple weeks ago.

The tolerance needs to be set on the specific part id for the numericalresp=
onse part of the problem.
The part 0 tolerance does not override the specific tolerance.

Show "all parts" for tolerance in the resource mode of the parameter settin=
gs.

You will probably find a "tolerance part 0_17" or some such thing. Set this=
 parameter specifically for
this resource only.

Hope this helps!
Mark

I have a problem assign to my class. It uses a value for the resistivity o=

problem appears to be set at 1%, so my students will be marked wrong unles=
s they know the value the problem is using. So I go to the page to modify =
parameter settings and set the tolerance to 5% for this problem in my cours=
e. But then I check the range of allowed answers for some students and it =
still looks like 1%. Why does my setting of the tolerance not override the=
default setting of the problem? What do I need to do to fix it.
