I know of a class that extensively uses style files with bridgetasks 
(not problems).  The css doesn't interfere with the grading.

The CSS file can change the look of the menus though.  See 
http://bugs.lon-capa.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4619
You can prevent this by using class and id names.
