Calling all chemistry users!

There will be an 'electronic homework' symposium at the spring 2007 ACS
national meeting (March 25-29, Chicago). Here is the description of the
symposium:

"Applications of Electronic Homework Systems

A symposium is planned to examine the ways in which electronic homework
systems such as WebAssign, LON-CAPA, or OWL are used in chemistry
courses across the curriculum. Presenters may discuss the advantages of
different systems, the types of problems assigned, how electronic
homework supplements classroom activities, faculty and student training
in using these programs, and how electronic homework systems affect
student learning."

The abstracts submission page at acs.org will probably not be open till
later this summer, with abstracts due late October/early November.
However, please save the meeting date if possible. I am hoping for many
lon-capa abstracts. I think there will be a lot of interest in this
topic; to my knowledge, this topic has not been covered at an ACS
meeting.

Let me know if you have any specific questions or comments. I will send
out another general message once the abstracts submissions pages opens.

Thanks!

Sally
