The important point is not the browser but the version of Java that
the browser uses. You need at least version 1.4 of Java for the Java
<-> Javascript to work (known in the computer world as 'LiveConnect')

Opera works great (ships with its own Java)
Safari you need to be running the latest version and it will use the
        correct java
Firefox (and likely IE) you need http://javaplugin.sourceforge.net/
         so that you can use a modern Java (otherwise they both
	 default back to 1.3.1 which has no support for LiveConnect)
