[LON-CAPA-users] enrollement with unique username

Hi,

In response to my earlier query about how to generate unique usernames for 
the class roster, several persons make the excellent suggestion of using 
the student's email address.  However, according to 
nathan.schoenack@ndsu.nodak.edu, lon-capa "doesn't like" periods in the 
username.

Stripping out the period from the username's email address is quite 
possible, but is also quite an irritation.  Is it really true that lon-capa 
will not accept usernames with periods?  If so, I request that this be 
fixed in the next update.
