[LON-CAPA-users] Help with formatting

Hello,

I'm trying to help a school teacher format his problem such that it 
displays like this:

     4.54
    34.4
      .456
+ 123.2
   -------

Each of the numbers above are a random variable and the problem needs to 
print and as well as display on the web.  The teacher eventually went 
with the random label tool, but I keep thinking there has to be a way 
with html or tex.  I tried the char attribute in both the <td> and <tr> 
tag but that didn't seem to do anything.

Any ideas?
