Grr,

so they stick all of the ix86 files in .../i386/...

So check-rpms is trying to be smart, sees it wants the i686 file and
tries to get it from ../i686/... and fails.

Could it maybe fail back to the i386 dir in case of failure?

Or perhaps you have a better idea.
