Hello HK,
Yes, the next LON-CAPA release (2.11.3) will be supported with CentOS 8.
The "Supported Linux Distributions" section of the 2.11.3 release notes includes:
- CentOS 8 added
- RHEL 8 added
- SLES 15 added
- Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, 20.04 LTS added
- Oracle Linux 6, 7, 8 added
- Fedora 26 - 31 added
See: an early draft of the release notes I posted to the dev list earlier in the year:
http://mail.lon-capa.org/pipermail/lon-capa-dev/2020-January/002067.html
At MSU this semester I will be provisioning some new VMs for the MSU LON-CAPA production instance and I will be putting RHEL8 (and LON-CAPA 2.11.3) on them.

Subject: [LON-CAPA-admin] Centos 8
Hi Stuart,
Just wondering if LONCAPA will be supported on Centos 8. If so, what is the time frame? Just got 2 new servers and am wondering whether I should install Centos 7 or 8.
Regards,
-hk
