Hi,

People were unable to log into loncapa this morning. The lonnet.log had
the following entries right as the 3rd and fourth ones in the file:

Tue Jun 9 05:10:09 2015 (4064): <font color='red'>CRITICAL: ABNORMAL EXIT.
Child 4064 for server binghamtonl1 died through a crash with this error
msg->[Corrupted storable string (binary v2.7) at ../../lib/Storable.pm
(autosplit into ../../lib/auto/Storable/thaw.al) line 366.
]</font>
Tue Jun 9 05:10:09 2015 (4064): Famous last words: Tue Jun 9 05:10:09
2015: Catching exception - Tue Jun 9 05:10:09 2015: <font
color='red'>CRITICAL: ABNORMAL EXIT. Child 4064 for server binghamtonl1
died through a crash with this error msg->[Corrupted storable string
(binary v2.7) at ../../lib/Storable.pm (autosplit into
../../lib/auto/Storable/thaw.al) line 366.
]</font>

A reboot seem to allow people to log in but they could access a course.
You would get a message about not being enrolled in any course. Another
reboot seem to fix that.

There were no errors or warnings in /var/log/messages. I think that I saw
this same thing several years ago.

I'm running Centos 5.11 and Lon-capa 2.10.1. I did an update this past
Friday for the kernel and Pam. But things looked good all weekend and
yesterday. It is being used by about 30 students in a summer course.

I'm wondering if this is related to the problem that I had and asked about
in this post:

http://mail.lon-capa.org/pipermail/lon-capa-users/2015-May/004816.html.

Maybe I've got some hardware going bad...

Thanks,
Bob Gonzales
