[LON-CAPA-admin] Fwd: [LON-CAPA] Stringresponse Grading Discrepancy

Hi,

This warning originates from code in LON-CAPA 2.10.0 intended to  
identify occurrences of bug 5531. It is a "false positive".

Although it is believed that caparesponse.pm rev 1.246 (in 2.10.0)  
fixed bug 5531, unfortunately a typo in response.pm rev 1.219 results  
in generation of  this e-mail warning (sent to the server  
administrator) for a problem part with multiple string response items,  
under certain circumstances.

The warning e-mail will be generated when a student gets the problem  
part correct by entering correct values for all items, having  
previously entered some of the same values on a previous try, which  
was graded "incorrect" because some, but not all, responses were  
correct.

Generation of this type of warning e-mail for a "false positive" is  
eliminated by a change to response.pm, which will be in 2.10.1.  If  
you do not wish to wait for 2.10.1 you can also patch a 2.10.0 server  
by doing the following:

All on one line:

wget -O /home/httpd/lib/perl/Apache/response.pm  
http://source.loncapa.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/~checkout~/loncom/homework/response.pm?rev=1.221.2.1;content-type=text/plain'

Then:

/etc/init.d/httpd reload
