[LON-CAPA-admin] editing /etc/hosts

Hi all

 

I have updated to FC5 and loncapa 2.2.2.  However, I got the infamous
/etc/hosts error.  Can anyone guide me in how to do a command line edit of
/etc/hosts?  I know what needs to be in the file, I just don't know the
linux procedure for opening and editing it.  I tried just typing /etc/hosts
at the prompt but got "access denied."  Any help offered would be
appreciated
