[LON-CAPA-admin] lond/lonc

Can anyone give a 3 paragraph summary of what lond and lonc should be 
doing nowadays? (LON-CAPA v 1.3)?

I know that a parent process spawns the children processes, and that there 
is the possibility of one pair of connections for every machine, including 
itself. There was also the push to have unused connections timed out after 
a while. What is the logic for breaking and reconnecting a connection? How 
often should it be happening?
