I'm not sure if this is relevant, but for me, somewhere
between the `yum update` and the upgrade to 2.1.0,
the httpd_selinux policies:
   http://www.die.net/doc/linux/man/man8/httpd_selinux.8.html
got enabled (this is on Fedora 4). One of the first
symptoms of this was the inability of mod_perl to
load modules under /home/httpd/lib/perl/. Disabling
this via
    /usr/sbin/setsebool -P httpd_disable_trans 1
and then restarting httpd fixed this for me.
