Should work, I am running it on Fedora Core 1 on my test machine.

You need to make sure 

1) you have gotten the perl 5.8.3 update
2) you need to also install
    http://install.loncapa.org/resources/fedora/perl-Time-HiRes-1.59-2.i386.rpm
