Hi Guy and Martin,
I have updated lewis (only) to v1.1 as per these
instructions. I now find that I cannot login from lewis. I noted that
there was a difference between the /etc/hosts file on lewis from the
one on nernst, in that nernst has an extra line for dalton in that file
namely
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
142.58.101.17 nernst.chem.sfu.ca nernst
192.168.246.17 nernst.chem.sfu.ca nernst
192.168.246.23 dalton.chem.sfu.ca dalton
142.58.101.23 dalton.chem.sfu.ca dalton

on lewis that last line was not present, so I have now included one

127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
142.58.101.16 lewis.chem.sfu.ca lewis
192.168.245.16 lewis.chem.sfu.ca lewis
192.168.245.23 dalton.chem.sfu.ca dalton
142.58.101.23 dalton.chem.sfu.ca dalton

Do I now have to reboot lewis, or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Thanks,
Ray
