[LON-CAPA-admin] REPLY REQUESTED: LON-CAPA machines and clusters

Hi,

You are receiving this message because you are subscribed to the
LON-CAPA system administrator mailing list (http://mail.lon-capa.org/),
or because you have installed a LON-CAPA machine in the past, or both
(sorry for duplicates).

We are trying to get a better handle on our installed base, as well as
update our cluster tables if needed.

We do have two separated main machine clusters (except for one one-way
mirror server):

PRODUCTION CLUSTER: these are machines that are used for running actual
courses or for developing real learning content. These machines should
be kept up-to-date with the STABLE releases of LON-CAPA - a new stable
release will be coming out in the near future. Machines should be online
and functional, and firewall settings should allow full LON-CAPA network
connectivity.

DEVELOPMENT CLUSTER: this is the cluster for experimental and software
development ("programmer") machines. It would be good to regularily
update these boxes to whatever is in CVS.

Below, please find our current cluster tables. For machines in your
realm, please let us know asap (by Tuesday ... please!?) about any
changes we should make, or if the entries are fine (either way, we would
like to hear from you). We are interested in machines that you have
recently put online, and also PLEASE machines that are offline now, or
where you are unable to overcome firewall problems (we would like to
assist if that is the problem).

If you are an active LON-CAPA system administrator and are not
subscribed to lon-capa-admin at mail.lon-capa.org, please do so. It is very
low traffic.
